In the early hours of February 6, two massive earthquakes shook communities across Türkiye and Syria killing more than 40,000 people, leaving tens of thousands injured, and displacing at least one million people.
Shortly after the earthquakes, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) Relief Team was on the ground identifying restaurant partners able to start cooking immediately, and beginning to set up a WCK Relief Kitchen. They now support 70 shelters for families evacuated from across the region and have served more than one million meals.
This same impactful organization is providing one million meals per day in Ukraine.
Foothills’ Outreach Committee has voted to donate $1000 from our emergency relief funds to WCK. If you would like to make a gift to increase this donation, please donate to the church noting that your funds are intended for WCK relief. You can write a check with WCK in the memo line, and place it in the offering plate, or you can give on-line following the instructions for Other Designated Outreach on our Give webpage. Your donations will be combined and sent to this amazing organization that is doing so much to alleviate hunger in regions that greatly need our help.
