The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Silicon Valley North returns on June 17 as an on-site event to raise funds for the fight against cancer, with live music, a silent auction, and a luminaria walk at dusk.
Relay kicks off with a celebration of local cancer Survivors. We encourage you to invite Survivors or friends and family living with cancer to join the celebration. During the Survivor Lap, attendees line the track and cheer on all the Survivors.
All are welcome to participate in Relay for Life with Foothills! You can walk and donate, or just walk, or just donate – whatever is best for you.
Here’s how to walk: just show up at Cupertino Memorial Park, 21121 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Cupertino, CA on Saturday June 17 any time between 3 PM and 9 PM and start walking!
Here’s how to donate:
- online: go to www.relayforlife.org/SiliconValleyNorthCA, click the DONATE box, then type in our church team name United We Stride.
- write a check to the American Cancer Society and mail it to the church: 461 Orange Avenue, Los Altos, CA 94022
- donate with Luminaria: Luminaria honor every life touched by cancer. You can dedicate them to a loved one lost, someone currently battling, or anyone who’s overcome it. For a minimum donation of $10 each, you can create your own Luminaria. Bags are available in the Fireside Room through Wednesday June 14.
- If you are of an age where you have to meet the RMD requirement of an IRA, consider using a QCD to essentially make a tax-free contribution! Have your Broker make a check to the American Cancer Society.

Qualified Survivors who register on-line will receive a complimentary Hope Club T-shirt.
Anyone who raises or donate $100 or more becomes a member of the Hope Club! Within two weeks of qualifying you’ll receive an email with a link to order your free Hope Club T-shirt. Register/donate early for the best chance of getting a T-shirt in your size.
Remember, anyone can join us on Relay day whether you donate or not – come on over just to walk or to see the luminaria. Hope to see you there!
